Developer Quickstart

To get started with developing and running the INMACOM MIS application locally, follow these quick steps:

Prerequisites

  • PHP: 8.3 or higher
  • Composer: Dependency manager for PHP
  • Node.js: v18 or higher (with npm)
  • PostgreSQL: Relational database
  • Firebase Project: An active Firebase project for authentication

1. Installation

Clone the repository and install dependencies:

git clone https://github.com/Bakhombisile02/INMACOM_MIS_V2.1.git cd INMACOM_MIS_V2.1 # Install backend dependencies composer install # Install frontend dependencies npm install

2. Configuration

Copy the sample environment file and fill in your database, email, and Firebase credentials:

cp .env.example .env

Ensure you set your Firebase service account configuration:

FIREBASE_CREDENTIALS=storage/app/firebase-service-account.json

Place your Firebase Admin JSON credentials inside storage/app/firebase-service-account.json.

3. Database & Seeding

Run database migrations and seed staging reference datasets:

php artisan migrate --force php artisan db:seed --force

4. Run Development Stack

Start the local stack concurrently using our Composer script:

composer dev

This boots:

  • The Laravel application on http://127.0.0.1:8000
  • The Vite hot-reloading development server on http://127.0.0.1:5173
